Welcome
Welcome to The Monos Centre, an inclusive retreat located at the heart of the National Forest in Leicestershire.
The Monos Centre is next door to Mount St Bernard Abbey, a Cistercian Monastery, amidst the beautiful Charnwood Forest.
We’re home to many groups and activities, including:
- the Abbey Tearoom and its deli filled where you can enjoy delicious locally sourced food and drink
- the Wellbeing @ Monos wellbeing and support hub
- Cairn Crafts, experts in the heritage craft of coracle making
- a gift shop stocking the work of many local artisans and artists
- a wide range of visiting workshops, tutors, activities and support groups.
However you arrive at our door, you’ll leave feeling better!

Care For Your Mind and Spirit:
Here at the Monos Centre we host craft workshops and wellbeing courses throughout the year from our wellbeing space and garden area called ‘The Clare Grimley Centre’. The Centre hosts organisations, charities, and the general public, aiming to maintain and support mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
Through Cairn Crafts you could join us to learn the heritage craft of building a Coracle.
Join A Growing Community:
We have been building a community of people and groups who not only benefit from the work of the centre but who, in turn, support the centre financially, practically and spiritually.
For further information about how you can support the work of the centre (formerly known as St. Joseph’s after the building where we started) , sign up for our newsletter.
